CE Pro Video Weekly News: Analyzing Nortek Q2 Earnings; Home Automation at … – CEPro
It is always interesting when the public companies reveal their quarterly earnings.
This week it was Nortek’s (NTK) turn. The company reported overall revenues down 2 percent and profits down 6 percent. More specifically, its Security group, which includes Linear, 2Gig and its PERS product line, fell a surprising 10 percent. Nortek blamed the drop on the group’s stellar Q2 in 2014.
In the A/V space, the company announced that Gefen is being moved into the Core Brands fold and TV One has been sold to an internal management group. The Core Brands group of companies—SpeakerCraft, Elan, Sunfire, Niles, Xantech, Panamax/Furman, Proficient, and BlueBOLT—reported strong double-digit growth for the quarter.
