Adtran provides gigabit connectivity for healthcare in smart homes – Telecompaper (subscription)
Through its Enabling Communities, Connecting LivesÂ program, Adtran will be helping US operator Ting Internet provide gigabit connectivity throughout its Mid-Atlantic and Southeast territory, including its recent rollout inÂ Westminster, Maryland. Ting works with MagicÂ (Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboratory) to advance healthcare deliveryÂ through FTTH and smart home services.Â
Through a project with theÂ Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboratory (MAGIC) Smart HomesÂ inÂ Westminster, Ting will be supplying gigabit broadband to twoÂ Magic Smart HomesÂ for individuals living with disabilities inÂ Carroll County, Maryland. The homes will have sensors installed that can collect health measurements, as well as behavioral data. The idea is to enable individuals â€œage in place.â€
